Matthew 13
1The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into
a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went
forth to sow;
4And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and
devoured them up:
5Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith
they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root,
they withered away.
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold,
some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in
parables?
11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the
mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance:
but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and
hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing
ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand
with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired
to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

John 8
1Jesus went unto the mount of
Olives.
2And early in the morning he
came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3And the scribes and Pharisees
brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4They say unto him, Master, this
woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5Now Moses in the law commanded
us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6This they said, tempting him,
that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them
not.
7So when they continued asking
him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8And again he stooped down, and
wrote on the ground.
9And they which heard it, being
convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone,
and the woman standing in the midst.
10When Jesus had lifted up himself,
and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11She said, No man, Lord. And
Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12Then spake Jesus again unto
them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13The Pharisees therefore said
unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14Jesus answered and said unto
them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell
whence I come, and whither I go.
15Ye judge after the flesh; I
judge no man.
16And yet if I judge, my judgment
is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17It is also written in your
law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18I am one that bear witness
of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19Then said they unto him, Where
is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

Psalm 29
1Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty,
give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2Give unto the LORD the glory
due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
3The voice of the LORD is upon
the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
4The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5The voice of the LORD breaketh
the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
6He maketh them also to skip
like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
7The voice of the LORD divideth
the flames of fire.
8The voice of the LORD shaketh
the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9The voice of the LORD maketh
the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
10The LORD sitteth upon the flood;
yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
11The LORD will give strength
unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
